Outfit of the Day - Another Warm One

Even though it was supposed to be fairly warm today, it was rather chilly this morning so I still wore a hoodie until it warmed up! I recently rediscovered these shoes - I can't believe I forgot about them! These are one of my favorite pairs of shorts - and they used to be my brother's jeans that got too short for him (which is hilarious considering they were much too long for me when I put them on to measure the cutoff length)

Face of the Day

I completely forgot to take a photo of the products I used today! Many of them are ones I've used before, however.

Products used:

Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro primer
Revlon Colorstay foundation
Milani HD Advanced concealer
Milani Minerals Compact Makeup
Cargo blush - Key Largo
Prestige Brow Perfection - Light/Medium
Maybelline Great Lash clear mascara
MAC Paint Pot - Painterly
Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box - Honey, Peace
Wet n Wild Creme Brulee eyeshadow
Physicians Formula black gel liner (from the Hazel Eyes trio, but it doesn't really matter)
L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara
MAC lipstick - Impassioned
Revlon Super Lustrous lipgloss - Coral Reef

My outfit today was pretty boring - just jeans and a tshirt, and shoes I've shown here before - so I didn't take photos of it, either. My fragrance of the day was more of my sample of Marc Jacobs' Oh Lola!

Outfit of the Day - Shades of Green

I knew we weren't back into the cool weather for good yet! For fairly warm days, I like skirts or shorts. I have two of these skirts from Target - the other's grey - and I love them because they're comfortable, affordable, versatile, and because of their shape, they're not prone to blowing around in the wind! That last one's probably the best part. It's windy here pretty often, which makes me not want to wear a lot of my skirts and dresses!
This tshirt is another one of my very favorites. I just adore loose-fitting tshirts, and this one's especially lightweight which makes it great for hotter days.
I've had these H&M sandals for probably five years - I'm surprised how well they've held up!

Gumball/Confetti Dot Manicure

This is one of the most fun manicure's I've done in awhile, but it's also one of  the easiest I've ever done that isn't just a single color! It's so simple - just choose several colors of polish you like together, then get a dotting tool of some kind (or several if you want different sized dots). Choose one color at a time and randomly place dots on your nails, continuing with the other colors until the whole surface is covered with dots! By going with one color over all the nails at once, you can avoid having to wait for the dots to dry since they'll be almost completely dry by the time you start the next color. And there's no need for a base color if you choose polishes that aren't particularly sheer. Also, because only a little bit of each dot overlaps another, the polish doesn't get too thick and start chipping or peeling off quickly as can sometimes happen with thicker manicures. It's lasted several days on me with no chipping whatsoever - and of course it also says something that I've been willing to leave it on that long! I tend to switch manicures more often than this.

The polishes I chose to use this time, L-R:
Zoya - Pippa
China Glaze - Gaga for Green
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear - Blue Me Away!
Wet n Wild Megalast - On A Trip
Essie - Lights
Wet n Wild Megalast - Club Havana

I used the Seche Clear base coat and Seche Vite top coat for this manicure.

Edit: I just noticed this is my 200th post! It doesn't feel like I've done that many!

Combined Outfit of the Day post–last 3 days

Somehow I forgot to actually blog about my outfits the last few days, despite taking pictures of them! They’re not very exciting since it’s been pretty hot, which generally leads to me wearing boring flip-flops and no accessories.

June 29th. It was a hot day but not unbearably so.

Tank top: Target

Capris: Unionbay, via Kohl’s (I’ve had these since high school)

Sandals: Victoria’s Secret PINK

June 30th.

Tank top: H&M

Shorts: Target

Sandals: Born via Marshalls

Necklace: American Eagle

July 1st. When I woke up at 8:30 it was already in the 80s, both outside and in my bedroom, so I decided it was time to break out a dress.

Dress: American Eagle

Sandals: I didn’t leave them on in the picture, but I wore the same yellow flip-flops from PINK today.

Sunglasses: Forever 21

And just in case you’re wondering, my toenail polish is Revlon’s Craving Coral.

Outfit of the Day: 6.20.11

Sorry for getting this one out late! Somehow slipped my mind to post yesterday.

OOTD 6_21_11

Top: Old Navy

Jeans: Express

Earrings: Wet Seal

Shoes: Target

I seriously regret not having bought this shirt in a million colors. It was $5 last summer and it really is one of my favorite shirts – lightweight and comfortable without being totally transparent.

Nails of the Day: Konad Flower Accent Nail

Base color: Revlon Top Speed - Guava
Flower from Konad m60 plate with white Konad special polish.

I seriously LOVE this color!! I think it really goes well with my skin tone, and it's so fun for summer - it kind of reminds me of popsicles.

I still haven't figured out how to stamp a Konad design in the same place on multiple nails, but it didn't really bother me with this one since they weren't right next to each other. Hopefully I'll get it down eventually!

Pink Flower Nails

I'm not really sure where the idea for these nails came from, I just kind of...did it.

Nail color : China Glaze - Sugar High (Up and Away Collection)
Flower petals : China Glaze - Something Sweet (Up and Away Collection)
Flower center : Essence - Sundancer

I used this tool from Sally Beauty Supply to make the dots. I had always shied away from doing any kind of nail art because I assumed it would be too challenging, but this dotting tool is seriously so easy to use. It's really handy that the brush is connected to it, too. And it's really affordable!

I had already had this on for a few days before I decided to photograph it, so my nails are a little worn away...whoops.
